Consistency > Perfection πŸ‘Œ

Back to Basics

βš“οΈ Back to Basics

I think most people start β†’ be consistent for few weeks β†’ quit β†’ start something new in few more weeks β†’ do it for a few more weeks β†’ quit

And basically repeat the cycle all over again. While the idea should be to:

start β†’ be consistent for few weeks β†’ see what’s not working out, what can improve β†’ be consistent for at least a year β†’ figure out if it’s not working β†’ pivot/keep doing/do something new πŸ†•

I know this since I belonged to the prior set of people not so long back for a few long-term indie projects I took upon. I think the introduction of new tools and technologies and the constant need to be in the β€œcool boyz club” takes precedence over using the simple route. examples:

  • Seen way too many people using #productivity tools like Notion, Jira over Spreadsheets / Google Sheets and making one existing sheet turn into a whole other Notion database with 10 sub-pages πŸ“„

  • Obsession with #trending topics or learning new tech like AI, LLM, Kubernetes , Crypto, Options Trading while the simple answer could be just basic Cron jobs, Investing regularly in an index like SPY πŸ“ˆ

While many have leveraged the above domains to create significant value and wealth πŸ’΅ , simplifying life often results in more mental freedom and spare time.

Here’s an account on Instagram where all they post is the same video every single day. This account has more views per video than the once-in-a-while shitposting meme page πŸ“ƒ.

The conclusion is, that things can be kept pretty simple, and consistency can take you further than where perfection would be if you let it.

Just like this newsletter that I’m going to keep pretty simple and short.
